Meet the owner and lead trainer:

Rachel Drachman, CPDT-KA

I strive to help owners improve their relationships with their dogs. By focusing on positive reinforcement techniques and consistent communication, owners can build a strong bond based on trust and mutual respect. Understanding a dog's needs, body language, and behavior patterns is crucial in fostering a healthy and happy companionship. Every dog is unique and may require different approaches to thrive, but every dog and human deserves patience and empathy.

I began working with dogs in 2016 at a small dog daycare and grooming salon in Ithaca, NY. It was during this time that my love for dogs evolved into a passion for animal behavior. After moving to Baltimore, MD, I quickly found my way back to working with dogs. My training journey truly started when I got my own puppy, a corgi named Guster. I enrolled in every training class available, attending some of them twice. After many hours of shadowing various trainers, I began teaching my own classes.

Soon after, my days were filled with training dogs, meeting clients for private lessons, and teaching group classes as the training manager for The Coventry School in Columbia, Maryland. In December 2024, my dog, my husband, and I relocated to Rochester, NY, where I founded Paws and Connect. I continue to attend professional seminars and conferences to ensure that I stay up-to-date with the latest information and skills to effectively assist you and your dog.
